  • OMNI Institute Announces Three Recipients of Pro Bono Service Grants

    May 23, 2007

After a review of ten applications in its latest funding cycle, the OMNI Institute Foundation Committee is pleased to announce three new recipients of pro bono service grants. All three recipients are non-profit organizations that are based in Denver and serve the Colorado community.

Victim-Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP) of Denver was founded in 1993 with a mission to educate, create opportunities and instill hope for restoring relationships harmed by conflict and/or crime. OMNI Institute will provide VORP of Denver with basic evaluation and technical assistance services with regard to measures of recidivism.

Micro Business Development Corporation (MBDC), based in Denver and founded in 1993, seeks to eliminate barriers to economic independence for community entrepreneurs, both youth and adult, through access to markets, resources and business capital. MBDC will receive assistance from OMNI in setting up an evaluation infrastructure to measure client outcomes. These services will include focus groups, development of new instruments that will be implemented into existing data systems, and initial data analyses.

Colorado AIDS Project (CAP), founded in 1983, holds a mission to improve lives affected by HIV and AIDS and to prevent HIV infection. CAP, already recognized as a leader in providing services to those living with HIV and AIDS, is increasingly seeking to prevent HIV infection in high-risk populations. OMNI Institute will provide assistance in evaluating these prevention efforts by supporting evaluation planning and the analysis of pilot data. CAP is providing matching funds to those allocated by OMNI Institute for this important work.

OMNI Institute is currently accepting applications for its next round of pro bono service grants. Applications are due July 1st, 2007. Application forms and instructions are available for download by clicking the links on the left side of this page.
