OMNI has extensive experience providing training and technical assistance in a variety of evaluation-related areas, including:
- The development and enhancement of data management systems and protocols
- Supporting system administrators and service providers in using data management systems and tools
- The interpretation and utilization of data and evaluation information for service planning purposes
Training is provided in both individual and group settings and is supported by manuals and other instructional materials that promote hands-on practice. Technical assistance is provided through evaluation consultation with organizations, on-going telephone support or site visits.
The Prevention Evaluation Partners (PEP), funded by the Colorado Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD), is an example of an evaluation research project that involves a range of technical assistance and training activities. The purpose of this project is to build the evaluation capacity of substance abuse prevention providers funded by ADAD and, thereby, strengthen the collection, reporting and use of evaluation data by these service providers. Training and technical assistance to providers involved in piloting the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention’s web-based service reporting system and in utilizing the Outcome Evaluation Reporter.
