Each medal honors a distinct expression of civic leadership—from visionary innovation and public service to emerging community leadership and corporate citizenship.
Together, the honorees reflect the values, creativity, and courage that shape Colorado’s future. In this milestone year—Colorado’s 150th anniversary—we celebrate the leaders who are expanding what’s possible for our state and igniting the next 150 years of leadership in Colorado.

Professor, Colorado State University
Dr. Temple Grandin is a pioneering advocate for humane livestock handling and a powerful voice for neurodiversity. Her work has transformed global industry standards while expanding understanding of autism and visual thinking, leaving a lasting legacy in Colorado and beyond.


Student Leader, Colorado Springs
Ramah Aiman Khammash is an emerging leader whose advocacy, organizing, and commitment to equity are uplifting youth voices in Colorado Springs. Through her work in schools and community spaces, she embodies the next generation of thoughtful, courageous civic leadership.


Founder & CEO, MagicSchool AI
Adeel Khan is the founder and CEO of MagicSchool AI, an education-focused technology company that equips educators with AI-powered tools. His work blends innovation, equity, and practical support for teachers, helping reimagine what’s possible in Colorado classrooms and beyond.


Executive Director, Colorado News Collaborative (COLab)
As Executive Director of the Colorado News Collaborative (COLab), Laura Frank is strengthening local journalism and rebuilding trusted civic information. Her collaborative approach supports newsrooms across the state, helping communities stay informed, connected, and engaged in our democracy.
