Melissa Richmond, PhD, is a Director of Research and Evaluation and has been employed by OMNI Institute since December of 2006. Melissa is responsible for overseeing several federal, state, and local research and evaluation projects, primarily in the areas of early childhood, education, and substance use prevention and early intervention. Melissa also provides oversight support to OMNI’s Ethics Committee, which is dedicated to providing the nonprofit with guidelines and resources to promote high ethical standards in research and evaluation work. Before joining OMNI, Melissa served as key personnel on a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health examining longitudinal associations between the quality of family relationships and children’s well-being. She has published research findings in scientific journals such as the Journal of Family Psychology and Developmental Psychology. Melissa received her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from the University of Denver.
