Thao Lam (she/her) | Research Associate | tlam@omni.org

Thao is a Research Associate at OMNI and has extensive experience in driving project management, applied research, and monitoring and evaluation across a variety of sectors, including public health, environmental health, and maternal/child health. She is skilled in facilitating coalitions, health service initiatives such as vaccinations and environmental risk prevention, and fostering community engagement around health equity. Her work spans the academic, public, nonprofit, and private sectors, where she has supported organizations in building capacity and engaging with focus populations to improve health outcomes. As a Research Associate, Thao’s work extends to areas of justice, substance use, and treatment recovery, where she provides technical evaluation assistance, client engagement, and report-writing support to OMNI teams. Her focus is always on delivering high-quality evaluations and fostering meaningful impact through her collaborative approach.

Thao's background in maternal and child environmental health has led her to guide local organizations and public health departments in Georgia and Arizona, helping them design data-driven approaches that uplift community insights and ensure equitable access to health services. She has spearheaded the development of health screenings, training programs, coalition-building efforts, and evaluation initiatives, including survey translation, mixed-methods evaluation, and health improvement planning.

Outside of work, Thao loves cooking and baking from scratch! She enjoys studying languages in order to engage with other communities and can nerd out about grammar all day!

How lucky am I to have chances to meet and walk with others as we run into questions and navigate to our destinations on these roads we call research and evaluation?
