About

Ellen leads complex, multi-method evaluation projects with both public and private partners primarily in the Omni focus areas of Child and Family, Economic Security, and Justice. She oversees the delivery of quantitative and qualitative reports and manages day-to-day program operations to meet client needs. She currently leads a mixed-methods, multi-site, multi-year evaluation for a Colorado Department of Education program to recruit, select, train, and retain highly qualified teachers in areas that have had historic difficulty in attracting and keeping quality teachers. Additionally, she oversees an evaluation of a county-level program aimed at reducing recidivism for low-level drug offenders and strengthening collaboration across county and city departments and community-based organizations.

Prior to Omni, Ellen coordinated evidence-building needs for the Colorado Department of Human Services’ Title IV-E Prevention Services Plan and the Colorado Department of Early Childhood’s federal stimulus-funded activities and Universal Preschool Program. She has led data and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management efforts for state- and community-level health care transformation initiatives, including within the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing. Her background is in international and community development, with previous experience at an HIV program in the Denver area, a WASH project in an informal settlement in Nairobi, a microenterprise development non-profit in Oregon, and small business development Peace Corps service in Nicaragua.

Outside of work, when not wrangling her 5- and 3-year-old daughters, Ellen can be found reading, doing puzzles, playing New York Times games, and undertaking home organization projects.

I'm passionate about participatory evaluation and systems-level change, and I was drawn to Omni's strong partnerships across communities in Colorado and beyond.
