Omni Institute and CiviCO have come together in a strategic merger that combines Omni’s decades of applied research and organizational development expertise with CiviCO’s leadership and civic engagement programs. This partnership strengthens our ability to support leaders, organizations, and communities across Colorado and beyond.

Q: What is happening?
A: CiviCO has merged with Omni Institute. CiviCO’s staff, programs, and brand are now part of Omni, while continuing to operate programs under the CiviCO name.
Q: Why did you merge?
A: We believe thriving communities require strong organizations, strong leaders, and a thriving local civic dialogue. By joining forces, we bring together Omni’s 40+ years of applied research, evaluation, and organizational development with CiviCO’s leadership development and civic engagement programs. This combination allows us to create greater impact across Colorado and beyond.
Q: What does this mean for CiviCO and its programs?
A: CiviCO programs will continue to operate under the CiviCO brand. CiviCO’s expert staff are joining Omni to ensure all program participants and members will see continuity in the programs they value, with added capacity and resources.
Q: Will CiviCO Purpose Hour still take place in Cherry Creek?
A: All currently planned Purpose Hour events are scheduled to be held at the Club CiviCO space in Cherry Creek. The Club CiviCO space will continue to use that branding and serve as a hub for our events in the future.
Q: What does this mean for Omni’s work?
A: Omni will continue its core work in research, evaluation, and organizational development. With CiviCO, we now also provide a stronger platform for leadership development and civic engagement and dialogue. Together, this allows us to better support organizations, systems, and the people who lead them.
Q: What does this mean for funders and partners?
A: This merger creates new opportunities for investment and collaboration. Funders can continue supporting CiviCO programs and community impact while benefiting from Omni’s broader expertise and reach. Partners will experience continuity in their relationships, with expanded ways to collaborate. Any gifts to support programs can be made to Omni Institute, P.O. Box 39983, Denver, CO 80239, with a designation they be used for CiviCO programs. Donations to Omni Institute are tax deductible.
Q: Who will lead CiviCO going forward?
A: DJ Whetter, CiviCO’s CEO, is joining Omni as Managing Director, CiviCO Programs. He will continue to oversee CiviCO’s program portfolio and their staff will continue to lead and implement programs.
Q: Will the cost of participating in CiviCO programs change?
A: No changes are planned. Program fees and membership structures remain the same, with added value through expanded resources from Omni.
Q: Will CiviCO’s alumni network still be active?
A: Yes. Alumni connections, events, and opportunities remain a vital part of CiviCO programming.
