Advancing Equity in Our Field

Research Fellowship Program

The fields of evaluation and research are predominantly white, with few programs aimed at increasing diversity at the earliest career stages. Most  fellowship programs cater to Ph.D. students who are already well on their way to these careers.  We wanted to take a different approach.

In 2022, we launched the Omni Research Fellowship, a program designed to support recent college graduates in acquiring valuable skills and experiences in applied social sciences and consulting. Since its inception, we have invested more than $150,000  annually to provide training, development, and early career learning opportunities— alongside real-world consulting experiences—to help launch the research careers of eight Omni Fellows.

Investing in Our Leaders

In addition to investing in our  fellowship program, we actively seek opportunities for our staff to participate in other  programs specifically designed to develop the leadership within our diverse staff. In the last year we have supported staff with paid time to pariticpate in programs through several fellowship opportunities, such as the Piton Early Career Fellowship and the Collective Leadership Initiative.

In 2025, Omni is also sending a cohort of diverse staff through the CiviCO Leadership Accelerator, to help staff with diverseidentities at Omni to develop leadership skills that will help advance their careers at Omni and deliver greater impact for our clients.

These investments in our diverse and emerging leaders at Omni, enhance our ability to bring equity to our clients and will help create the long-term diverse leaders in our field.
