Project Description
AYDC was ready to evolve—and Omni joined the journey to help them do it with courage, clarity, and community. Our mission: guide the Anchorage Youth Development Coalition through the creation of a transformational equity plan that goes beyond buzzwords and into real, structural change.
We started by taking stock, conducting an equity assessment to ground the work in truth. Then we convened an advisory group representing diverse voices across the AYDC community. But this wasn’t just another committee; we designed the process itself to reflect the kind of culture AYDC aspires to build: one rooted in inclusion, care, collaboration, and shared power.
From flexible meeting timelines to co-created agendas and wellness practices woven into the work, we led with intention. The result was more than a document—it was a declaration. Titled AYDC’s Commitments to Liberation: Joining a Culture of Belonging, the plan outlines core commitments paired with “Transformative Practices” (concrete actions AYDC will take to live out its values and shift its culture). This was equity planning done differently—with humanity, integrity, and real tools for change.
We built a process with AYDC that embodied the values they wanted to live: care, inclusion, and shared leadership. The result is a plan rooted in real action and authentic community accountability.
