Project Objectives

  • Promote statewide awareness of gambling-related harms by supporting the development of a public outreach toolkit that communicates risks, resources, and support options through clear, equity-centered messaging.
  • Ground the campaign in local realities and needs by conducting a statewide landscape analysis to identify population trends, service gaps, and emerging issues related to gambling harms.
  • Integrate evidence-informed prevention strategies by reviewing current research and national best practices to guide toolkit content and outreach methods.
  • Assess campaign effectiveness and guide future strategy by designing and implementing a responsive evaluation framework that captures reach, resonance, and community impact.

Project Description

Omni is partnering with the Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHDID) to advance a comprehensive, statewide effort to prevent and reduce gambling-related harms. Through a strategic public awareness campaign developed in collaboration with SE2 (a Colorado-based communications firm) this initiative seeks to educate communities using accessible, data-informed messaging and outreach materials.

Omni is leading formative research and evaluation efforts, including a statewide landscape analysis, to ensure campaign messaging is grounded in Kentucky’s lived realities, best practices, and health equity principles. This project reflects a shared commitment to addressing the complex, often hidden impacts of gambling through collaborative, culturally responsive prevention strategies.

This campaign goes beyond awareness. It’s about equipping communities with knowledge and tools to respond to gambling-related harms in meaningful, data-driven ways.
